Hi,
How Oracle controls the size of alertSID.log file?
Does it purges the old data in aletSID.log or it just grows?
Also does it purges 'trc' files in bdumop and udump?
In case we remove those keeping last 2-3 days trc files, will it cause any issue?
Thanks and Regards,
Chetana

Thanks Mahesh
I will read more on logrotate
However it means Oracle does not purge the AlerSID.log file implicitly
Sorry for my understanding but in that case alertSID.log would have grown in GBs and on top of alertSID.log we would have seen the content of date belonging to the date we started using the database, which is not the case.
Regards,
Chetana
