Hi All,

I have certain questions, can you please clearify.

1) The backup was started using alter database begin backup at 6pm and alter database end backup at 10pm, but the archives generated in between were deleted at 9:59pm , what will happen with the database, changes made in between 6pm - 9pm, do we loose them, could not test this coz dont have the access to the system.

2) Cold backup was taken for the database having size 15TB which took 30hrs to complete the backup.

Now the 90% of the datafiles of the database are corrupted , is there any way to recover the entire database 6 times less time than the backup time.

3) which background process is responsible for generating awr stats.

Pls put some light on the above questions.

Many apologies for the qualities of the replies you've recieved - your best bet is to ignore them.

1) If you deleted the logs files before you backed them up, then the changes are gone. If you've backed up the log files, and have the log file from 9:59 onwards then you should be ok.

2) I'd anticipate restoring the datafiles would take about as long as the backup took.
