can i copy oracle home from one machine to the other. Both the machines have the same naming convention. If i do so,do i need to run relink all command once i have copied the oracle binaries. Also does it have any impact on future patching.

yes

No need to relink.

You will not be able to patch.
OUI will not know about any Oracle s/w due to lack of inventory.

How will files know they reside on different hardware?

well i quite dont understand,if oraInst.loc is pointing to a location which is existing on the new server and has Orainventory copied over from the original server, will it still have problems in future patching.

Simply copying the ORACLE_HOME is not supported. OUI offers an option for cloning Oracle with the -clone parameter that will recreate the required inventory, relink if necessary and support future patching.
