Hi,

Could anyone please explain, why the redo log generation is much lesser at the time of taking backup through RMAN than when the TS is in HOT backup mode?

As I am not not getting any clue about the same.

Regards-
Pokhraj

Because RMAN does not put the tablespace in hot backup mode.
