Hi,
I've a table partitioned on processed month. We create partitions for one yr & each month one partition gets the data.
Each partition holds ~ 8M record
We gather stats on all the partitions every Sunday even though some of the parts are empty. By now Jan-July2009 will have data & Sep-Dec2009 will be empty. But still we gather stats...
Will there be any perf issue because we gather stats on empty partition? One of my team members is saying so but couldn't explain the reason.
Could you guys clarify it?

Thanks in advance
Ponns
