Oracle 9i silent install on aix 5.3 [message #407461]

I have tried to set up the above and it keeps sticking on "In Summary Page". I have tried setting the record option, editing a simple response file from the response area on disk1. This includes clientruntime.rsp and custom.rsp with everything chnaged to install the client not the server. It still stops in the same place. Processes are still listed but nothing seems to be written to the /u01 or /tmp directories.

I have now, through changes to the response file, managed to get a "oracle client installation successful." However when the log file is viewed all that has happened is the stop for root.sh is shown. I ran root.sh but now cannot start the runInstall again.

Some progress but your help would still be appreciated.

Set SHOW_ROOTSH_CONFIRMATION=false in response file.

I tried that but it did not seem to make any difference. I will try again with a clean install and report the result. Thanks for your reply.

Can't really say without knowing the exact process you followed. However, you may want to check Note 782923.1.
