The other day it gave this output;
D:\tnsping uat
TNS Ping Utility for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.1.0 - Production on 07-JUN-20
09 11:48:59
Copyright (c) 1997 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Used parameter files:
D:\oracle\oracle_home\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST = 12.1.1.1)(PORT = 1523))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = uat)))
OK (140 msec)
I tried today and it gave me this:
D:\tnsping uat
TNS Ping Utility for 32-bit Windows: Version 9.2.0.1.0 - Production on 08-JUN-20
09 08:35:11
Copyright (c) 1997 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
Used parameter files:
D:\oracle\oracle_home\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
TNS-03505: Failed to resolve name
And there was no error message because the discovey ends successfully yet there's no database under the databases tree in OEM.

What answer do you expect/desire?

I seriously doubt that you've read the main topic.. that's why I'm going to copy and paste it BELOW:
I am trying to connect to the database server (sun solaris) from my machine (Win XP). When I use discover nodes and put the IP of the database server it discovers the node successfuly but the database is not there under the database tree.
What am I missing here?
DB version: Oracle 9.2.0
Now after trying tnsping which was "suggested" by MR. Gentlebabu, the problem still there. In other words, I'm still not able to discover the remote database.
Still confused?!!!
