Hi all,

I face problem while upgrading patch set ( from 10.2.0.1.0 to 10.2.0.4.0 )on windows xp

after installing the patchset, i gave statup
i received such error

ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

i searched in google , the solution i found was to restart
service .but still didn't work.

i found some errors in my alert log saying

MTTR advisory is disabled because FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET is not set

Please advice me on this.

Thanks

After apply the cpu patch on ORACLE_HOME did you start the database with "UPGRADE" option?

sql>startup upgrade

If not then shutdown the db and startup with upgrade option run the catcpu.sql (patch script) let them finish then shutdown and startup (without any other parameter).

MTTR advisory is disabled because FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET is not set
Above is not an error, just a message.
