I am aware of hot backups with RMAN but is there a way to toggle a specific SCHEMA to Read-Only to effectively "lock" the schema during cold backups (Oracle dumps)?

While we have RMAN for hot backups for our daily backup operations, we would like to retain cold backups for weekly, monthly, and yearly backups without necessarily having to take the system down.
