Hi,
I have deleted all old backup sets (from RMAN and TSM), because we got a new tape library. But the first new RMAN backup doesn't have the "backup set number" -> 1
RMAN> list backup;
using target database controlfile instead of recovery catalog
List of Backup Sets
===================
BS Key Type LV Size Device Type Elapsed Time Completion Time
------- ---- -- ---------- ----------- ------------ ---------------
271 Full 538M SBT_TAPE 00:00:28 01-MAY-09
BP Key: 27 Status: AVAILABLE Tag: TEC OFFLINE V1.0
Piece Name: TEC/685683752/27/1
-------
How can I reset the backup set number ... Would be nice, if the new backups start with the backup set numer 1.

Michel,
thank you for your answer. It isn't really important, but it would be nice, if I could do it.
I have exported the control file with:
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE;
The result is in the attached file. Maybe I'm blind ... Maybe I'm to stupid ... Maybe both ... I can't find the backup set number in the control file.

P.S. to the Moderator: Thank you for adding the 'code' '/code'
Had to edit the message .. I called Michel Michael. Today is really not my day.
