Hi I installed Oracle 9i and I'm trying to find the DataGuard application in the Enterprise Manager Utility but its not there. Can someone tell me if while i was installing 9i I had to choose something?

There must be compelling need for the 9i.
It is outdated and not supported anymore.
If you are learning DG concepts, start atleast with 10gR2.
DG concepts with Oracle as evolved a lot from 9i version.

Why? 9i is obsoleted & unsupported.
I could be mistaken, but I do not recall Data Guard existing in V9.

You can find the Oracle Doc. set at http://tahiti.oracle.com
All your answers can be found there.

Hi,

As long as you're installing the Oracle Enterprise Edition, you'll be able to setup a dataguard.

9i is going to be ended, it is better if you start using 10g for practice, unless you need to support 9i dataguard in your work.

Regards,
Adhika
