I have the below setup
2 node RAC on ASM running on windows XP

The database along with asm instance is going down intermittently with the below error:
NOTE: ASMB process exiting due to lack of ASM file activity
Shutting down instance (abort)
License high water mark = 6
Instance terminated by USER, pid = 2252

I bring up the ASM and the database and again within a couple of minutes ASM crashes.

There should be an associated trace file and more information.
Please post them.

Oracle version is 10.2.0.3

Also, there is no trace file. I was also looking for it in the alert log as well. Like I mentioned when I bring up the ASM it goes down again withing 2-3 mins without leaving any errors or trace files.

I would check metalink. Seems it is full related bugs.

That worries me. It is a very short time for any timeouts to get triggered. When ASM is up, did you check the ASM disks?
Something like 
asmcmd lsdg

Should show the status.
Also, check the assocated RAC instance in the same node where this issue occurs.

I did check the status of the ASM disks and it all seems fine. The RAC instance on that node also is fine.
