I am getting following error when installing oracle 10g...on Windows XP machine..

Enterprise Manager Configuration failed due to following error

SEVERE: Error starting Database Control

oracle.sysman.emcp.EMConfig perform
CONFIG: Stack Trace:
oracle.sysman.emcp.exception.EMConfigException: Error starting Database Control
at oracle.sysman.emcp.EMDBPostConfig.performConfiguration(EMDBPostConfig.java:569)
at oracle.sysman.emcp.EMDBPostConfig.invoke(EMDBPostConfig.java:181)
at oracle.sysman.emcp.EMDBPostConfig.invoke(EMDBPostConfig.java:150)
at oracle.sysman.emcp.EMConfig.perform(EMConfig.java:155)
at oracle.sysman.assistants.util.em.EMConfiguration.run(EMConfiguration.java:430)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534)

Could anyone let me know how to come out of this error...

I attached log file from here product\10.2.0\db_1\cfgtoollogs\dbca\orcl\emConfig.log

You did not follow the document establishing the prerequisites.
The log file contains an error which needs to be corrected.

If you actually read & follow the Installation Guide, Oracle Universal Installer works as advertised.

I did my installation using the installation...

I didn't know where i had gone wrong.

I 'll be thankful if u assist me how to solve this issue.

Not completely or correctly.

What is/was the error contained in the posted log file?

Here is a free clue.
Start at the end of the file & start looking back towards the top.

With Oracle log files the fatal error is always near the end of the file; since these files are written sequentially.
