Dear all,
I have a report in which there is a column naming comments of varchar2(2000) type, i put that column at the end of report and expanded it until i could get that column against each record(as it was a lengthy column).

when i run it from url, the spreadsheet output shows that column spanned over many rows, even though i set horizontal elasticity to variable and vertical elasticity to fixed,
which by the way works fine in live previewr of reports 6i.

Any help will be appreciated.

Regareds,
Kashif

Check Excel cell's "Format Cells" properties. Is this cell's "Wrap text" checked? If so, uncheck it.

Thanks for reply, But if i unwrap it,it gives me something like below which is far away from my expected output i.e.lot of spacing between each record and also this report will be generated by many many user and i don't expect everyone of them to unwrap cell's property so i have to do something at design time.

Take a look at your screenshot, pay attention to row number 6. See how it is wider than rows 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? It means that its "Row height" should be adjusted. Unfortunately, I wouldn't know how to do that on the Oracle side.

By the way, how do you export information from Reports to Excel?

when i unwrap from format cell option, space was automatically created between rows, which i don't want and to convert report to excel on i use below URL

http://localhost:7778/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=spreadsheet&report=d:pathofreport.rdf&userid=test/test@or cl&PARAMFORM=yes
