I'd load flat file into an Oracle database by SQL*Loader (or using the external tables feature), create a form data block based on the loading target table, execute query in a form.

Do you want to copy it into the form or do you really want to copy it into a database table?

Is the file format absolutely fixed or can it be changed? .csv would be easier to work with.

We have already discussed a problem which regards Forms and SQL*Loader - search the board, see what's been said and try to implement it to your problem.

As discussion lead to SQL*Loader domain, the topic has been split; it continues in the Server Utilities forum, right here.

This topic is now locked for further discussion. If it ever becomes related to Forms, please, send me a private message and it will be unlocked.
