Hi Experts,

Is it true that if servers have same file system its possible to stop Oracle on 1 server machine and copy all files to new server and start Oracle on new server?

Both the machine is having same configuration.
Both machine having same OS i.e. Suse 9
Both machines having oracle 10.2.0.1.0.

Then if this is the case then will the copy paste of
1. Data files
2. Redo log files
3. Control file
4. Pfile,spfile
5. Password file
6. Please specify if any....

on the same file system will work?????

If yes then please let me know the step by step guide for the same.

Thanks,

Just list all files using dba_data_files, dba_temp_files, v$logile and v$parameter for control files.

Michel
