I am planning an Oracle 9.2 install on Solaris 10, as we cannot use ASM the plan is to use Solaris Volume Manage to set up striping, the application is 80% OLTP using an 8k block size. Can anyone provide and guidelines as to the stripe width or guide me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks for the reply. We are a software house and have to support client configurations until they upgrade, the client in question will be rolling out 10g in October but until then we have to run with 9.2 (a real pain!!)

What do your benchmark tests show as optimal size?
