We installed Oracle 10g R2 on Windows 2003 Enterprise Server on IBM Server Machine at our head office. In our city office we have Oracle 8i Database (8.0.6) installed, we don't need to make online entry in both but we do need some table's backup from Oracle 10g database to import into Oracle 8i database and via versa.

how can we take backup from Oracle 10g for specific tables to import into oracle 8i database?

we have one system at Headoffice containing Oracle8i Database (8.0.6), we tried to take backup of Oracle 10g from that system by using EXP utitily but it gives TNS Error.

Any solutions.????

You can't connect 10g database from a 8.0 client.
Export/unload on the database server and ftp, or use a 10g client.
