Hello,
I would like to know what may be the consequences of changing the default location of the flash recovery area (oracle_base/flash_recovery_area) to a customed one.
What I mean is, if I alter my spfile and change the default location of the parameter db_recovery_file_dest to another location on another hard disk, how will the use of use_db_recovery_flash_dest expression with some parameters such as log_archive_dest be affected?
Will the expression use_db_recovery_flash_dest still refer to the location of my recovery area? Will there be problems during archiving, backup and or recovery?
Thanks in advance.

What prevented me from doing what? Posting to this forum or having the results I mentionned? Obviously, if I was absolutely sure I would get the results I mentionned earlier, I wouldn't have opened this topic in the first place.Anyway, I just wanted to give Ebrian a feedback of what he suggested me to do.
Thanks.
