hi,
i'm new to oracle db administration, i tried to changed the log_archive_dest parameter on my oracle database the next time i tried to bang my instance this is the error i got
ORA-32004: obsolete and/or deprecated parameter(s) specified
ORA-16032: parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST destination string cannot be translated
ORA-07286: sksagdi: cannot obtain device information.
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
please help!

hi in which version of oracle you are setting this parameter? also the location you specified is not available it seems. can you post your steps.
