Hi all,
I'm trying to migrate my 9i database to 10g.
I know I can use DBUA to perform it.
But How to proceed ?
Do I need to be installed both version (9i and 10 g) on the same server( machine)? if yes, may I use the same SID name before starting the migration ?

Thanks.

Yes, you need both 9i and 10g versions on the same system. The SID will not change during the upgrade.

For detailed instructions, check the Upgrade Guide.

If you are trying to upgrade 9i db to 10g, don't you already have 9i installed since this db is up and running ??

Make sure you install 10g in a different ORACLE_HOME

Use DBUA ..much easier and follow the instructions.
