RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Requires elicitation/determination, analysis, design, coding, and testing of software intensive systems. Generally develops the more complex parts of software intensive systems.
· Perform project management functions (planning, reviewing, and reporting).
· Assist in the preparation of high-level requirements. Prepare software requirements specifications for existing systems and new development. Be able to effectively work with end users and other work units within to establish requirements and to assure compliance with the requirements.
· Use the appropriate design tools, graphical or text based, object or procedural, automated or manual, to produce component or system designs.
· Modify or create software using the appropriate coding standard.
· Prepare complete software documentation to insure understanding and access for future development within the application. Prepare or assist in preparation of user documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Master’s degree in a Computer Science related discipline or equivalent education and/or experience.
· Graduate degree will be considered equivalent to two years of experience.
· Minimum of 8 to 12 years professional experience in software development with five years in systems analysis.
· Possess leadership capabilities.
· Knowledge of software engineering techniques: Project Management, Object Oriented Design, Risk Assessment and Rapid application development.
· Programming skills: C/C++, Java, TAL, Cobol, Assembler and Perl.
· Operating Systems: NT, AIX, Solaris, MVS, Guardian are pluses.
· Relational database knowledge: Sybase, Oracle, DB2 are pluses.
· Knowledge of MARC, UNICODE, SGML, EDI and other standards as applicable are pluses.
· Demonstrated mastery of unit, component, system, load and performance testing techniques are also pluses
