Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
* Plan, model, design, maintain, and optimize databases including relational databases. * Seek to optimize database architecture so that the data is accurate, accessible and timely. * Develop and implement tools and methods to ensure that databases are reliable. * Ensure that databases connectivity and technical system integration across multiple platforms (e.g. client/server, midrange, mainframe, etc.), operating systems, DBMS, etc. * Provide appropriate consulting, interfacing and training for IT and functional clients and make recommendations regarding enhancements or improvements. * Establish and maintain security, access, and integrity controls. * Provide consistent, high-quality database access to clients and support quality initiatives and guidelines. * Work as a member of a team to provide best-in-class support function. Additional Health and Safety Requirements (U.S. ADA): Position requires ability to use a computer for 4 or more hours a day. Travel and/or work off-hours may be required.

Specific Knowledge:
* BSCS, BSCE, BS Software Engineering, MSCS and/or equivalent education or knowledge. * Minimum 2 years experience as a Database Administrator in a heterogeneous environment, with primary emphasis on Oracle. * Proficient with UNIX operating systems required. * Proficient with WebDB a plus. * Proficient with shell script, PL/SQL, Perl, Java, JavaScript, C, and Informix 4GL's. * Above average oral and written communication skills required.
