Hi,

Can some one tell me how email can be send from PL/SQL procedure. The application is for automatically sending mail messages to different customers with some pre-determined conditions. The email will contain the following attributes.

email id, email subject, email text

Please suggest me some references/sites also. It is slightly an urgent requirement.

TIA
Siva

Refer to the package UTL_SMTP. You can send mails from pl/sql using this package but you can't receive mails. This package comes with Oracle8i.

Hi Venkatesh,

Thank you very much for your help. Can i use the same logic which was used by utl_tcp in some example or is it different. If some one can give me a sample program it will be very much helpful. My server is Oracle 8i in Solaris. Can i use the same package.

TIA
Siva

Hi Siva.
You can find a good example of how to use it at metalink site.
Enter http://metalink.oracle.com and search for "utl_smtp" via search engine.

Regards,
Fernando.
