Hi,

I am trying to install oracle database 10g version 2 on oracle enterprise linux 5.2 version.

After i run runinstaller script it shows me first all installer requirement met then its just giving me following error message





preparing to launch oracle universal installer from /tmp/orainstall112008-12-12_08-27-07AM. Pease waut....[oracle@localhost database] Exception in thread "main" java.lang.unsatisfiedLinkError:
/tmp/orainstall112008-12-12_08-27-07AM/jre/1.4.2.lib/i386/libawt.so: libXp.so.6: can not open shared object file: No such file or directory

at java.lang.ClassLoader$Nativelibrary.load(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader/loadLibrary0(Unknown Source)
etc


hope someone can guide me to fix this Smile

Most probably missing packages.
Search this forum for "libawt.so: libXp.so.6".
Make sure you have all the packages installed as recommended in installation docs.

Thank you very much. As i have installed all packages mentioned in the oracle release notes. i did not even think about this package.

Actually this libXp.so.6 was missing. it is a part of XFree86-libs-4.1.0-50.i386 package. i found that from following link.
