vip is configred and 2 nodes can ping each other through it

installing the database with asm
the asm listener went down every now and then
i found that the vip is the proplem as it went down to making the listener down
i donot know why
i searched alot and i re-enstalled several times the same proplem occure
my private and puplic network s always up
only the vip is toogling from up to down
does any one have a clue

You may want to review the log files in %CRS_HOME%\log\<hostname>\ directory.

That is the issue. Your public IP's should be able to ping your gateway ?

As a work around, you can try to set FAIL_WHEN_DEFAULTGW_NO_FOUND=0 in racgwrap.bat .

in most of the documents they donot put a default gateway
and that's why the vipca doesnot run and u run it manually " as your puplic ips isnot routable"
so i removed mine and the same happened...the vip of a node at a time begin giving me request time out
and the other working normlly
frustrated and unlogic as both has the same gateway

any way i opened the patch u told me about ebrian and edited it
added the line u write
and also nothing happen

i wrote it in the patch in 2 nodes
shall i write any hing before the command like " set" or somehing

or did i do something wrong

Try to perform the following:

- Stop all nodeapps
- Change the value of variable FAIL_WHEN_DEFAULTGW_NOT_FOUND=0 in $CRS_HOME/bin/racgvip
- Start all nodeapps

maii, I apologize, I forgot you mentioned you were on Windows.

The parameter to try is FAIL_WHEN_DEFAULTGW_NOT_FOUND (note I mis-typed this in the initial response and forgot the T in NOT).

Therefore, set this parameter in the racgwrap.bat file similarly to the other parameters in this file. (I don't have a Windows box to verify the syntax of whether you need to specify set FAIL_WHEN_DEFAULTGW_NOT_FOUND=0 or just FAIL_WHEN_DEFAULTGW_NOT_FOUND=0).

Stop and start the nodeapps.
