Hello ,

While installing Oracle 10g RAC on Linux, after specifying all the details finally we get the configuration scripts which we need to login as root and execute them .

Can I know what is the purpose and the reason behind those scripts

1. /u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/oraInstRoot.sh
2. /u01/app/oracle/10.2.0/crs/root.sh

kindly help me out .

Regards,
Raj

yes, is it only with respect to changing the permissions and ownership?

And the second one was creating the /etc/oratab file . And some entries will be added when a database is created .

I wanted what kind of entries will be added when a database is created . a small uppdate on this will be appreciated.

And really thanks mike , you made me go through the entire script execution . you really made me learn a new thing today.

Regards,
Raj
