First of all I would like to apologise for my thread, probably under your level of knowledge.
I'm a IT student, and I just had the pleasure to meet the Oracle OLAP discoverer tool.
So here I go and on the first step I take I pretty much fell down..
This is what I tried to do, really simple:
I got a Cube "Returned Items" and some dimensions such as time, geographic location and some others.
In my cube there are a few important measures: bought items and returned items
Case 1:
In 2006: 17782 products were sold, 5910 products were returned.
Question 1:
What is the percentage of the items that were returned?
This should be 33% since (5910 / 17782=0.33235856484)*100
But then why does my Oracle OLAP discoverer tool give me the result of 28% when I use the calculation:
RETURN_QUANTITY SUM / BOUGHT_QUANTITY SUM * 100
Any help or suggestions are highly appreciated.
Yes, I have to finish my assignment by Wednesday 12th
