Experts,

i am getting following error while taking archive backup.
all the backup ran successfully in the past, last one day we are getting this problem. i check in the metalink, and this problem is more relates to MM catalog. i check with my backup team, they are saying that every thing are ok at their end.
please find the error message

can any one give me guidelines where oracle is failing to identify sequential file

Recovery Manager complete.


i found this information from netbackup log files

UMGPRD2:{bass}79% tail log.102508

ORA-27206: requested file not found in media management catalog
 *Cause:  A backup file used in a recovery manager catalog maintenance
          command was not found in the media management catalog.
 *Action: Retry the command with a different file.

which file i have to use. why i am getting this problem.
could you please provide me some more information on this.

i was also get same problem before. that time i did not understand what my seniors did.

Thanks for reply. i have in a problem where i can't determine the problem.

actually rman backup is running fine from one node and from second node it is giving the problem.

one more thing i have noticed that on 24 th one backup is ran on the disk instead of tape. will it cause any problem.

so it is clearly understand the some thing is not sync with the catalog. please correct me if i am wrong. if you want i can post the details.
