Hi guys, I'm running Oracle 10g on RedHat 4 EL. After I created a new user and assigned role "Connect" to it, I tried to log in by sqlplus and isqlplus and no problems occurred. However, when I tried to log in with Enterprise Manager in "Normal" mode, it always displayed an error message like this "The application requires more database privileges than you have currently been granted.". Actually, I'm quite confused, I don't know what privileges I have to assign to this user so that I can log in with it by EM. Anyone knows what the problem is?

Although I can now connect to EM as a normal user, a new problem arises. If I grant select any catalog role or select any dictionary privilege to that user, then that user can view any table in other schemas, whereas I only want that user to view some particular tables, not all. So how can I do that? Is there any other privilege or role that just gives a user the ability to connect to EM only, but still some data are hidden from him, or if that user is allowed to access EM, that means he/she can view any data without any restriction?
