2. can i make a folder on ASM and daily copy the export Dump file in that folder ? do you think it's good idea or it's better i copy export dump on local hard disk on server ?

Thanks ,

1). I believe, "cp" command is available from 11g.
ASM is just a volume manager.
If you use ASM for Oracle datafiles, use RMAN to copy them across.
For other files, you can use FTP. Again, to setup FTP, you need to run a script.

As usual, it depends.
In general, I see no use. Export is just a serial, predictable process.
I would not use any backup/exported dumps with the same ASM disks as the other database datafiles are existing.

hi,
personally I would not touch any of the files with ASMCMD.

If you want a backup then I would use RMAN and then copy the resultant backup piece to your hard disk.

Why not?
asmcmd is made for certain operations.

Seems the OP wants to copy an asm file not the backup piece created by RMAN backup.

But using the above convert future is not meant for backups.

use RMAN to do a cold backup.
