4 numbers, if Oracle gives several numbers to define a version there is a reason, and if there is a reason then it is usful to know these several figures. Do you think there is no difference between 10.1 and 10.2?

If you mean 'How do I check my Buffer Cache Hit ratio', then the best answer I can give is 'Don't Bother'
Monitoring it over a period of time can be useful, as it can indicate a trend towards increasing IO, but as a single figure, it's not a great deal of use.
The best yu can say for it is that if you are have pure OLTP application, and the BCHR is low, then you've proably got a problem -. Conversely, i is stil possibly to have very poorly performance on an OLTP database with a high BCHR, and of youve got a significant amount of Batch processing going on then it's no use whatsoever.
