All,
I have installed Oracle version 9i yesterday on e: drive, it is working fine and my SID is seclbsp. The tnsnames.ora is at E:\oracel\..\admin.
Now I want to install Developer 2000 rel 2.1 so what STEPS i have to take so that TNSNAMES.ORA problem should not come.
I will install Developer on C: drive? Is it ok?

And in most cases, if you are just using your local client against
your local database, you do not need tnsnames entries at all (ORACLE_SID will identify the instance).
Or atleast it used to be like that. It is been ages since I used Developer 2000.

As you know that I have already installed Oracle 9i on E:. now when I am installing Developer 2000 the forllowing message is coming .
HOME CHANGE INFORMATION
Quote: | The Oracle installed has detected that already have an existing Oracle home at E:\Oracle\ora90. selecting a different location will disable your currently installed oracle products. Choose back to select existing location ...
|
Now if I will change the Orcale path then Oracle will not start OR changing the path the message is coming as
Quote: | the location specified, E:\Oracle\Ora90", is already used as Oracle home for 'Oracle 82 Beta'
It cannot be used as an Orcale home for 'nt'
|
Pls guide OR id any document is available to install Oracle and then D2K .
