Hi Everybody,

In one of our production database we receive ORA-04030 out of process memory when we try to run a report.

When i checked the alert logfile i found the below error occurred continuosly.

skgpspawn failed:category = 27143, depinfo = 9261, op = spdcr, loc = skgpspawn


Database Details

Oracle Version 9.2.0.5.0
server Windows 2003 server
Ram 3.75GB
Virtual memory 2GB

Init parameters details:

shared_pool_size= 192M
sga_max_size=1440M
pga_aggregate_target=1440M
shared_servers=0
max_shared_Servers=20


Please anyone guide me to fix this issue.

ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate %s bytes (%s,%s)
 *Cause:  Operating system process private memory has been exhausted
 *Action:

Check ulimit and try to enlarge the available memory for each process (at OS level, not Oracle one).

Can you please tell me how to enlarge the ulimit parameter in windows 2003 server.

hi,
Is this a 32 bit OS?

there are a number of switches that have to be configured for windows

/3GB, /PAE, /USERVA

other things to look at are

USE_DIRECT_BUFFERS

Yes this is for 32 bit.

And virtual memory has been set to 2GB

Size of the RAM is 3.75GB
