I am installing Oracle RAC 10g on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5
I have successfully installed the Clusterware and the Database software.
I have created the ASM disks using oracleasm createdisk utility.
ll /dev/oracleasm/disks
total 0
brw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 8, 1 Aug 27 11:00 VOL1
brw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 8, 2 Aug 27 11:00 VOL2
brw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 8, 3 Aug 27 11:00 VOL3
brw-rw---- 1 oracle dba 8, 5 Aug 27 11:00 VOL4
oracle:/dev/oracleasm:$ /etc/init.d/oracleasm listdisks
VOL1
VOL2
VOL3
VOL4
But I am not able to view the disks in the OUI while trying to install ASM instance
oracle:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/asm/bin:$ kfod asm_diskstring='ORCL:*' disks=all
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ORACLE_SID ORACLE_HOME
================================================================================
+ASM1 /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/asm
I tried changing the Disk Discovery Path to "/dev/oracleasm/disks/*" and also tried "ORCL:*". Nothing worked out.
Permissions have been granted properly.
Let me know what needs to be done .
