Hi Experts,
My RMAN backup policy is:-
backup archivelog all archivelog until time 'sysdate-3' delete input
RMAN is in nocatalog mode.
Controlfile_record_keep_time is set to 7 days.
So according to my current policy RMAN is deleting archivelogs from operating system after 3 days.
I just wanted to know the maximum number of days I can restore archivelogs?
If somebody deletes the backup taken by rman at server (manually) then is it possible to restore those manually deleted backup archivelogs.

How would you expect to restore a backup that is deleted?

Thaks for the reply ebrian.I have one more basic question.what exactly control file stores in its repostitory in nocatalog mode.

In nocatalog mode, RMAN will use the control file as it's repository. The control file will contain all the information needed by RMAN for backup & recovery. However, the age of the info in the control file is governed in part by CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME.
