Nothing is urgent in forum but reading OraFAQ Forum Guide.

It depends when and how many times this message comes. Note this is not an error message but may be a signal there is a problem if it is frequent.

Michel

Anacedent,

I tried to google it first, couldn't find anything, so ended up asking it here.

Thanks for being sarcastic, but it didn't help. Thanks again.

Michel, when people are in trouble and they just want to get straight to the answer, they naturally end up not reading the guide first, but posting the question. Sorry for that.

But I hope with your responses we would know how to take care of the guidelines.

While looking at the "bdump/dev1_qmnc_2650.trc" file, here's what I saw:

Unfortunately, alert file starts with these errors, I guess due to them being so many, portion of the alert filehas been wiped out.

Yes, my DB is open and running. The only reason I came across this issue was due to slow performance of the DB.

As you remove the insteresting part of alert.log it is hard to say.
I bet you have an ORA-00600 or ORA-07445 somewhere.

Stop and restart the database and post your alert.log then.

Michel

That's exactly what I said, addition of too many errors in the alert file capped off the oldest info, which could lead to some answers. It was not my intention to provide you limited information from the alert file.

However, I was able to restart the whole node and the DB seems to be working fine yesterday.

What else could be done in order to investigate it?

Nothing as the useful information are gone.
Why do you truncate alert.log?
Don't do that; copy the oldest part but do not delete it without a backup.

metalink note 305662.1 talks all about it.

Are you using streams/RAC?

As I expected... Laughing

I never truncated the log. Its just the way its setup I guess. New informationkeeps coming in and the old one goes out.

How can I keep more information in alert log, without it having to kicked out of it?

Thanks Michel

As per Mr.Mahesh Rajendran, Are you using streams?

Provide following output.

1. Show parameter compatible
2. show parameter aq_tm

And check metalink notes 395137.1

Babu

Babu,
There is no significant detail about the resolution of the problem.

Here is all what it says on the MetaLink DocID you provided.

Edit MC: copyrighted material removed
Don't post Metalink note

Oops, my bad.

However, here is the restof the info you asked for.

SQL> Show parameter compatible

NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
compatible string 10.2.0.3.0

SQL> show parameter aq_tm

NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
aq_tm_processes integer 0

Just to let you now that the problem is long solved, I am just trying to dig down deep to machine the problem out.

Thanks for your help guys!

True,
It was just a copy paste from MetaLink, not MY info.

That is why it's been removed Smile

Thanks
