Hello all.
OS: Windows XP Professional , version: 2002, Service pack 2.
Oracle : 10.2.0.1.0
While trying to install oracle, i am getting error like:
Quote: | The value of the enviornment variable PERL5LIB is more than 1023 characters. This value cannot be set.
|
On pressing Retry buttun, same error is returned.
After pressing Ignore button, installation then compaletes successfully (as the message shown).
But then after while creating database, i am getting contineous errors, like "Insufficient Privilates", and database cannot be created.
The value of PERL5LIB variable is:
Quote: | D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_4\perl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32-x86;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_4\perl\5.8.3\lib;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_4\p erl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32-x86;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_4\perl\site\5.8.3;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_4\perl\site\5.8.3\lib;D:\oracle\p roduct\10.2.0\db_4\sysman\admin\scripts;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\perl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32-x86;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\perl\5 .8.3\lib;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\perl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32-x86;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\perl\site\5.8.3;D:\oracle\product\10. 2.0\db_3\perl\site\5.8.3\lib;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\sysman\admin\scripts;d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\perl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32- x86;d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\perl\5.8.3\lib;d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\perl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32-x86;d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db _1\perl\site\5.8.3;d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\perl\site\5.8.3\lib;d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\sysman\admin\scripts;

Instade of reformat of c:\ and d:\, can't we fix this error by setting/resetting any os level paramters/variables?
Windows still remebers the previous installations, means somewhere within windoos internal, the entries about previous installations are stored. By removing that we can proceed.
Or else, can't we remove entries of previous installations from that PERL5LIB env variable itself?
(I am looking for other options first, because, reformatting will be big issue for me because, this happened in my company's pc and reformatting will take some time, and will need other settings on pc too..)

Dipali..
