Hi,
I am having difficulty finding information the event 'buffer cache handle'. We are seeing this event and cannot find out enough information to resolve

Thanks for your input. Google is indeed a great tool but as I am sure you have found out over the years, quality can very often be poor. Please note that this does not only apply to Google as a search engine.
You see I have gone through a lot of google 'hits' and metalink but there is little information except from Steve Adams that says that the buffer handles act as the lock structures to buffer locks.... (please find this in page 54 and not google).
So I was looking for something a bit more....what does it protect beside buffer locks, which buffer locks or latches; how does it relate to _db_handles or does it etc etc

thanks. I checked the metalink notes in case I had missed them but but lreading them they do not explain what a buffer handle wait event actually is. I know the latch I am waiting for, 'cache buffer handles',but i am trying to find out what it is trying to protect ?
