ORA-00312: online log 1 thread [message #336428]

Hello,
when im dong the backup, i renamed a datafile ro recover the database after STARTUP.But, when i OPEN the DB, its showing an error:
ORA-16068: redo log file activation identifier mismatch
ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: 'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\REDO01.LOG
can anybody help me with the solution

Please read & follow Posting Guideline as stated in URL above

It is not clear to this reader what you did.
It appears you made changes & now Oracle is not pleased with the current collections of files.

Which file did you rename & why did you do that?

What exactly does this mean & why did database need to be recovered?

I hope you have good backups for this database or that it did not contain data anyone cares about.

Without knowing what you EXACTLY did and your database structure, we can't answer.

Post all the commands you executed.

Hello,
actually i was practicing the BACKUP nad RECOVERy process, and i'm doing the HOT BACKUp procedure, im successful in doing with DB ONLINE i,e Up and running and when i try doing the BacKUp in DB OFFLINE, i,e shutting DB DOWN by deleting a datafile XDB01.DBF from the PATH-'C:\oracle\oradata\orcl\XDB01.DBF'.

and when i tries to STARTUP, its showing an error:

SQL> startup;
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 135338868 bytes
Fixed Size 453492 bytes
Variable Size 109051904 bytes
Database Buffers 25165824 bytes
Redo Buffers 667648 bytes
Database mounted.
ORA-16068: redo log file activation identifier mismatch
ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: 'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\REDO01.LOG'

how to recover from this error, please help me out
