Hi

when i was trying to change the value of LOG_BUFFER parameter, i got the following error
ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be modified.
I do not know the reason of this error. Can you please help regarding this?

LOG_BUFFER is a static parameter you can't modify it dynamically, you can just modify its value in spfile or pfile and wait the next startup.

what i did is

Alter system set log_buffer=value scope=spfile

Then, the system displayed the error which is given below

ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be
modified.

If you do not want to get the error, then don't issue the command that generates it.

You may not be using spfile otherwise it should work
execute:
SQL> show parameter spfile to know whether spfile is in use or not.

SQL> alter system set log_buffer=2850816 scope=spfile;

System altered.

And restart.

google "direct path insert" "nolloging"
imp utility can't do that.
