Hi!
Can we define global variables in reports builder 10g?
If yes, how and where to create them??

Many thanks!

Rajy

As far as I can tell, we can't do that; at least, not the way we can in Forms Builder as
:global.some_variable = 'abc';
or even
default_value('abc', 'global.some_variable);

What would you do with a global variable? In Reports Builder, you may create "User parameter" or store a variable in a package (if that's good enough for you).

Hi
I need to reference a field value in a formula column or format trigger of another field that is in a different group (at a different frequency).
I think a user parameter will solve MY problem because im just assigning '1' or '2' to this parameter. But if I need to assign a value from the query (:field), where to fill the parameter then??
Thank you!
