We are having a Solaris upgrade from Solairs 8 to Solaris 9.
I will need to relink the kernel on Monday morning.
Can someone advise me how to do this or point me in the right direction towards the relevant document.

This is an Oracle site not a Unix one.
You should post in a more appropriate forum.

The topic is locked.

(My apologies for my previous post which Michel has blocked as it looked like I meant rebuilding a solaris kernel.)

Check if this the same software for both OS versions.
The best way, and the one i'd choose, is to reinstall Oracle with a new fresh download for your OS version.

I've checked and it is the same software for both versions. All I want to do is relink the Oracle kernel.

Can anyone advise on how to do this and if there are any pitfalls etc that I need to be aware of.

Regards

Sati

I gave you my advice: reinstall it will take less time than this topic lasts.

Thank you for being so useful. This must be one of the worst forums ever (Have a look at the reponses Michel gave to Malik. The poor guy was struggling with the language let alone having to put up with someone so pompous and anal)

Michel, you obviously know your stuff but are so reluctant to share it easily unless its done your way and put very politely. You are a pompous twat!

Yes Nobody owes me an answer. I have the answer from another source now. I have just checked other threads and the replies he gives are very rude. I'm not sure if its his grasp of English or thats the way he was brought up. Being condecending, patronising and treating people as imbeciles are not endearing traits. I'm sure he has helped many people but not all of them are as knowledgable as him and there is no need to be rude! Just have a look at some of his responses recently!! Everyone needs to read responss he made to Malik about the recyclebin to realise this. Rather than just tell him where he is going wrong he decides to stretch the guys patience until he's almost begging for help.
