Hi,
I have 100GB of DB on Oracle 9i on Solaris.
I am using following plan 1 method for RMAN Backup
Plan - 1
--------
Sunday-Level 0
Monday to Saturday - Differential Incremental Level 1
Plan - 2
--------
Once a month - Level 0
Cummulative - Every Sunday
Differential Incremental - Monday to Saturday
Which plan is better and why? Also which level (1 or 2) should I use for cummulative and incremental plan 2?
Regards,
Tushar

Backups should be designed in such a way that it takes less time to backup and is quickly recoverable .
1) Go for weekly level 0 backup and daily cumulative incremental backups if recovery time is more important in your case .
2) If you want to keep your backup time to minimum , go for level 0 on Sunday and differential level 1 backups from Mon to Sat .
Its for you to decide Option 1 or option 2 .
