hi
we are trying to implement dataguard in Oracle 9i.
we facing the below issue.
please let us know is it due to some parameteres in init file in standby and primary database..

kcrrfail: dest:2 err:4031 force:0
ORA-04031: unable to allocate  bytes of shared memory ("","","","")
Error 4031 attaching RFS server to standby instance at host 'STANDBY'
Error 4031 attaching to destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 standby host 'STANDBY'

V9.0.4 is unsupported & VERY buggy

What is the hardware configuration?

It is due to parameter is spfile.

What results from:
SQL> SHOW SGA

sga parameters of primary and standby database is same


Total System Global Area 2097786968 bytes
Fixed Size 458840 bytes
Variable Size 1048576000 bytes
Database Buffers 1048576000 bytes
Redo Buffers 176128 bytes
