Can you use the 11g "section size" option while doing a whole db backup? ie:
RMAN> backup incremental level 0 section size 10G database;
I have been unable to make this work (it thinks about it for an hour then never does anything). It works as advertisized when working on a single datafile.
If you cant use section size on the database, would not using "backup database" and instead doing backups of all datafiles (specifying section size) in the database be equivalent?
The problem I have is I have a db like this:
system: 1G
users: 1G
tablespace1: 5G
tablespace2: 500G
and RMAN allocated one channel (of 10) to each tablespace so its slow.
