Hi,
I have a oracle database 10.2.0.2 on ASM, we have two disk groups but we built it with nomal redundancy. Now we want to rebuild the database to have the disk groups with external redundancy. Following are the steps I'm planning to follow:
1. Destroy the database
2. Drop both the existing ASM disk groups
3. Recreate the disk groups with external redundancy.
4. Recreate the database.

Is that anything else i have to do to achive this task?
Once I drop the disk group, can i simply use the devices and create a new disk groups?

Thanks,
GK

Yes, because the newly built disk groups will have external redundancy. But how about the devices i use currently, can i simply use it after i drop the existing diskgroup and should be able to create a new disk group with the same device?
