Hi guys,

I have two servers with 2 databases that connect to the same datafiles (the datafiles, controlfiles and redolog files are on shared driversn and are the same for both databases). one is primar and the other is secondar, they reflect each other changes.

The problem is that I need to remove one of this servers and replace it with an other, I have created an identic database in the other server,as in the server I have to remove, now I need to connect it with the shared datafiles.

WHAT CAN I DO????

is enaugh if I change the path of the controlfiles ine the new server to that in the old server?

Thank you in advance,

its not a 2 node rac, its just a device (matrix device) that make possible that the 2 servers have some local drivers and some shared drivers that are the same for both servers. the databases use multiple listeners for not getting mixed up with each other

This? Other? new? old?

How many physical, different servers?

With regard to "other", is not this server the other server from an ego centric persprective?

It is too bad for all concerned that your servers don't have names.

ok I have 3 servers serve 1, 2 and 3. They have 2 local drivers and 5 shared drivers that are the same for the 3 servers. server 1 and 2 have two diferent databases with the same datafiles and controlfiles that are placed one the shared drivers. I want to eleminate server 1 and replaced it with server 3.
I have installed an identic oracle database as server 1 now I need to use the shared (datafiles and controlfiles).

What can I do?
