I am using solaris 10 .installed there oracle 10 .I want to knw where is the loction of the SPFIlE and PFILE...??

The default location of the SPFILE is under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs on Unix

thax .. i got the locathing ....can u help me ..how i use that spfile to startup database.

Don't use IM speak

If spfile is in correct location and with correct name, just use "startup".
