Hi,

I am new on oracle 10G. I have oracle 10G installed in my PC. It was working fine before. Now I can connect to oracle server (using ORCL) from the "C:\>sqlplus / as sysdba" and even using "C:\>sqlplus" and followed by username and password. However, while connecting to the server using "sqlplusw" or "isqlplus - using iexplorer" I get the message "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified". I tried many things visiting forums, but could not be solved.

I am really stuck now as I could not practice anything more because of this.

Thank you in advance.

Kiran

if sqlplus works, why do you need the others?

I agree with Ana, don't use a tool that no more exists.

In SQLPLUSW, make sure to specify the AS SYSDBA in the host string.
User Name: SYS
Password: *********
Host String: ORCL AS SYSDBA

Another thing to try is to add .WORLD to the host string
ORCL.WORLD AS SYSDBA. This is an older default TNSNAMES configuration.
